Profil Disolusi Tablet Salut Enterik Berdasarkan Bahan Polimer
Abstract
Enteric-coated tablets play a crucial role in enhancing drug bioavailability by protecting the active ingredient from the acidic environment of the stomach and allowing its release in the intestine, where optimal absorption can occur. One key factor influencing the success of enteric-coated tablets is the choice of polymer used in the coating layer. This study aimed to examine the characteristics and concentrations of various polymers and their effects on drug dissolution and bioavailability in enteric-coated tablets. This study was a literature review, searching and compiling articles from previously published scientific journals using relevant keywords. The review results indicated that commonly used polymers are Eudragit, Kollicoat MAE 30D, cellulose acetate phthalate, HPMCP, chitosan succinate, and ethyl cellulose. Each polymer had unique characteristics that influence its dissolution profile in acidic and alkaline environments. It can be concluded that the concentration and type of polymer determine the release time and stability of the active ingredient, which ultimately impacts the therapeutic efficacy of the drug.
