Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Evidence Hub (the "Service"), operated by the operator of Evidence Hub ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Evidence Hub is a search tool for published research. It queries public scholarly sources (including PubMed, Europe PMC, Semantic Scholar, ClinicalTrials.gov, OpenAlex and arXiv), merges the results, and adds automatically generated information: relevance scores, study-design and evidence-level labels, sample-size detection, and AI-written summaries, overviews, data extractions and chat answers.
2. Not medical, legal or professional advice
The Service is for information and research only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and nothing in it is a substitute for the judgement of a qualified professional. Do not start, stop or change any treatment, medication or supplement because of something you read here. If you think you have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Study classifications, evidence levels, sample sizes, subject labels and safety/efficacy tags are inferred automatically and can be wrong. AI output can be incomplete, out of date, misleading or plainly incorrect, including invented details. Always check the original paper before relying on anything.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract.
- Give a real email address that you control; temporary or disposable addresses are not allowed. We verify it by email.
- Keep your password secret and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not share your account or create accounts to get around limits or a suspension.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, through your use of the Service;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service, resell it, or use it to build a competing dataset, except through interfaces we expressly provide to you;
- send automated or excessive requests, or try to get around rate limits, daily quotas, CAPTCHA or other protections;
- probe, scan or attack the Service, or try to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- upload malicious files, or files you have no right to upload;
- use the Service to harass others, or to generate or spread content that is unlawful, defamatory or harmful.
We apply daily usage limits to AI features (chat, PDF evaluation, summaries and similar). They may change.
5. Content you provide
You keep ownership of what you provide, including saved folders, chat messages and PDFs you upload. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display that content, and to send it to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy, solely to operate the Service for you.
Only upload a PDF if you have the right to do so (for example, an open-access paper, or a paper you are entitled to read and to process for your own private research). A PDF you upload for a paywalled paper is kept private to your account. If you upload a verified open-access copy of a study, it may be made available to other users of the Service as the shared copy of that study. You are responsible for your uploads and for any copyright or licence terms attached to them.
6. Third-party content and services
Research records, abstracts, links and full texts come from third parties and remain the property of their owners under their own terms. We do not control, endorse or guarantee them, and the Service may show a source as unavailable at any time. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for what you find there.
7. Availability and changes
The Service is provided on an ongoing basis but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. We may change, limit or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
8. Suspension and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; see the Privacy Policy for what that removes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms, put the Service or other users at risk, or are used abusively, with or without notice where the situation calls for it.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of Evidence Hub will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or health outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, or from reliance on any information in it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and EUR 100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Indemnity
You will compensate us for claims and costs arising from content you upload or from your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When the change is material we will tell you in the Service or by email, and the version above will change. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws that apply at the operator's place of business, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
