Abstract

This study will examine the safety and efficacy of the addition of omarigliptin in Japanese participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have inadequate glycemic control on diet/exercise therapy and oral antihyperglycemic agent monotherapy.

Conditions: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Primary outcome: Percentage of Participants Who Experienced at Least One Adverse Event Excluding Data After Glycemic Rescue During Phase A; Percentage of Participants Who Experienced at Least One Adverse Event Excluding Data After Glycemic Rescue During the Overall Study; Percentage of Participants Who Discontinued From the Study Due to an Adverse Event During Phase A; Percentage of Participants Who Discontinued From the Study Due to an Adverse Event During the Overall Study.

Enrollment: 585 participants.

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 585 participants or records.

How the five levels of evidence work. The level is assigned automatically from the abstract and can be wrong, so check the paper.
