From Retrieval-Augmented Generation to Graph RAG: A Review and Implications for Turkish NLP
Abstract
Computer science is no longer shaped only by faster computation; it is increasingly defined by how intelligently systems can learn, reason, adapt, and respond to uncertainty. This transformation is creating new connections between artificial intelligence, decision science, information retrieval, data engineering, and emerging storage technologies. Advances in Computer Science and Engineering: Intelligent Architectures, Modeling, and Applications brings together studies that reflect this multidisciplinary evolution. The chapters explore decision trees and probabilistic models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation and Graph RAG, AI-based prediction in electricity markets, and DNA-based data storage using fountain codes. Despite their different application areas, these studies share a common direction: transforming complex data into meaningful, reliable, and actionable knowledge. From explainable decision mechanisms to knowledge-aware AI architectures and next-generation storage solutions, the volume highlights how intelligent computational methods can address both present and future engineering challenges. I believe that the real value of intelligent systems lies not only in their ability to produce results, but also in their capacity to make uncertainty manageable, information understandable, and decisions more trustworthy. In this respect, the studies presented in this volume represent different perspectives on a common scientific objective: building more capable, interpretable,…
