Document Querying Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation
Abstract
This thesis addresses the design and implementation of a modular web application for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). The proposed application adopts a modular architecture based on interchangeable Spring Boot starter modules, enabling large lan- guage model (LLM) providers, embedding models, and vector databases to be integrated and replaced without modifying the core system. Additionally, the application provides project-based access control, document indexing, configurable retrieval and generation pipelines, and a customizable user interface. The resulting system was evaluated through configuration experiments and user feedback.
