Resistance Analysis on Staphylococcus to 8 Antimicrobial Agents
Abstract
Objective To analyse the resistant profile of 135 strains of Staphylo coccus isolated from our hospital to 8 antimicrobial agents and to investigate t he isolation rate of β-lactamase of various resistance level MRSs (methecillin resistant Staphylococcus). Methods The minimum inhibitory co ncentrations (MICs) of 8 antimicrobial agents comprising oxacillin, vancomycin, norvancomycin, teic oplanin, clindamycin, amikacin, levofloxacin and rifampicin against 135 clinical isolates were determined by agar dilution method according to NCCLS. The produc tion of β-lactamase was identified by nitrocephin paper strip method. The isol ation rate of β-lactamase-producing strains was counted and the correlation b etween the resistance level and isolation rate of β-lactamase was analysed by statistics. Results The resistance rates of 83 S.aureus an d 52 coagulase negative Staphylococcus to oxacillin were 68.67%(57/83) and 5 7.69%(30/52). The resistant rates to glycopeptide antibiotics, amikacin, levoflo xacin, rifampicin and clindamycin were 0% (0/135), 1.48% (2/135), 22.96% (31/135 ), 49.63% (67/135) and 65.93 % (89/135) respectively. The isolation rates of β-lactamase-producing of MRSA (methicillin-resistant S. aureus), MSSA (methcillin-sensitive S. aureu s), MRCNS (methicillin-resistanct coagulase negative Staphylococcus) and MSCNS (meth icill in-sensitive coagulase negative Staphylococcus) strains were 43.86%, 76.92% , 43. 33% and 61.11% respectively, and that of strains of high- and…
