Bioequivalence of a Fixed Dose Combination Tablet of Empagliflozin/Linagliptin/Metformin Extended Release Compared to the Free Combination of Empagliflozin, Linagliptin, and Metformin Extended Release Tablets Following Oral Administration in Healthy Male and Female Subjects (an Open-label, Randomised, Single-dose, Two-period, Two-sequence Crossover Study)

Abstract

To establish the bioequivalence of one fixed dose combination (FDC) tablet of empagliflozin/linagliptin/metformin extended release (XR) versus the free combination of empagliflozin tablet, linagliptin tablet, and metformin XR tablets administered as a single dose under fed conditions

Conditions: Healthy.

Primary outcome: Area Under the Concentration-time Curve of the Analyte in Plasma Over the Time Interval From 0 to the Last Quantifiable Data Point (AUC0-tz) for Empagliflozin; AUC0-tz for Metformin.; Area Under the Concentration-time Curve of the Analyte in Plasma Over the Time Interval From 0 to 72 Hours (AUC0-72) for Linagliptin; Maximum Measured Concentration of the Empagliflozin in Plasma (Cmax); Cmax for Metformin in Plasma; Cmax for Linagliptin in Plasma.

Enrollment: 30 participants.

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 30 participants or records.

How the five levels of evidence work. The level is assigned automatically from the abstract and can be wrong, so check the paper.
