A Phase I, Randomised, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled (Within Dose Groups) Study to Evaluate Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Single Rising Oral Doses (1 to 100 mg) of BI 10773 in Healthy Male Volunteers
Abstract
Study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of BI 10773 administered to healthy Japanese male subjects with single rising oral doses (1, 5, 10, 25, and 100 mg).
Conditions: Healthy.
Primary outcome: Number of patients with adverse events; Number of patients with abnormal changes in laboratory parameters; Number of patients with clinically significant changes in vital signs (blood pressure, pulse rate, and body temperature); Number of patients with clinical significant changes in 12-lead ECG (electrocardiogram); Assessment of tolerability on a 4-point scale.
Enrollment: 48 participants.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 48 participants or records.
