Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections With Levofloxacin or Ofloxacin
Abstract
AIM: To compare the therapeutic effect and cost of treating urinary tract infections between levolloxacin and ofloxacin for promoting even more rational selection of drugs. METHODS: The patients were randomly divided into test group and control group, they separately received levofloxacin or ofloxacin in a dose of 200mg, bid, intravenous drip for 7 days, then cost-effectiveness analysis was carried out. RESULTS: The clinical effective rates and expenses in test group and in control group were 87.3% , 1 397.48 yuan and 85.0% , 2 801.40 yuan, respectively. CONCLUSION: The therapeutic effects of two drugs in treating urinary tract infections are similar, but use of levofloxacin is more rational and cheaper.
