Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of Dexlansoprazole modified release (MR) (30 mg once daily \[QD\] or 60 mg QD) compared to placebo in relief of daytime and nighttime heartburn over 4 weeks in subjects with symptomatic, nonerosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Conditions: Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

Primary outcome: Percentage of Days With Neither Daytime Nor Nighttime Heartburn During Treatment as Assessed by Daily Electronic Diary-Median; Percentage of Days With Neither Daytime Nor Nighttime Heartburn During Treatment as Assessed by Daily Electronic Diary-Mean.

Enrollment: 947 participants.

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a clinical trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence. Reported size: 947 participants or records.

How the five levels of evidence work. The level is assigned automatically from the abstract and can be wrong, so check the paper.
