Abstract

Currently, patients with a concomitant pathology of a mutually aggravating nature are increasingly found in clinical practice. One of these combinations is gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and bronchial asthma. The presence of GERD leads to the development of uncontrolled, resistant to standard treatment methods of bronchial asthma. Surgical antireflux intervention is often the most effective method of achieving lasting results and controlling bronchopulmonary symptoms. A clinical case presents a case of successful surgical treatment of a patient with axial cardiofundal hernia of the esophageal orifice of the diaphragm combined with GERD and bronchial asthma using video laparoscopic antireflux surgery, which led to the achievement of stable remission of bronchial asthma. The performed videolaparoscopic circular complete esophagofundoplication, posterior diaphragmatic cruroplasty, plastic surgery of the esophagophrenic ligament allowed the patient to eliminate the need for inhalation therapy and ensured the achievement of stable remission of the disease.
