The Efficacy and Safety of Jeoryeong-tang (Zhu Ling Tang) for Postoperative Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Patients: A Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Abstract
Background: This study will conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Jeoryeong-tang for postoperative benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) patients. Methods: The following electronic databases will be searched: MEDLINE (PubMed), EMBASE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Citation Information by NII, Korean Information Service System, Korean Medical Database, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System, ScienceON, and Research Information Sharing Service. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing Jeoryeong-tang with or without conventional treatment will be included. Primary outcomes will include the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), while secondary outcomes will assess quality of life (QoL), urinary function, and adverse effects. Data synthesis will be performed according to Cochrane methodology. Results: This review will evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety of Jeoryeong-tang by analyzing reported outcomes and adverse effects. Conclusion: This systematic review will provide evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of Jeoryeong-tang in postoperative BPH patients.
