Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of moxifloxacin on community acquired pneumonia.MethodsPatients with community acquired pneumonia were treated with moxifloxacin or mezlocillin in a randomized controlled study.A total of 72 patients were enrolled in the study,32 patients in moxifloxacin group,32 patients in mezlocillin group. All patients had been treated for 7~14 days.ResultsThe effective rates of moxifloxacin group and mezlocillin group were 88.89% and 86.11% respectively.Patients with community acquired pneumonia have better tolerances and dependences to moxifloxacin.ConclusionMoxifloxacin is effective and safe for the treatment of patients with community acquired pneumonia.

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 72 participants or records.

How the five levels of evidence work. The level is assigned automatically from the abstract and can be wrong, so check the paper.
