Effects of nemonoxacin monotherapy and nemonoxacin combined with minocycline on the prognosis in patients with non-severe Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia
Abstract
Objective To analyze the effects of nemonoxacin monotherapy versus nemonoxacin combined with minocycline on the prognosis in patients with non-severe Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia (CPP). Methods The data of 67 non-severe CPP patients who were admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to December 2025 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into an observation group (n = 34) and a control group (n = 33) according to the treatment regimens. The control group was treated with nemonoxacin alone, while the observation group was treated with minocycline additionally. The two groups were compared in terms of clinical efficacy, clinical symptom improvement, serum inflammatory factor levels, Community-Acquired Pneumonia Physician Reported Outcome (CAP-CRO) score, Efficacy Satisfaction Questionnaire for Community-Acquired Pneumonia (ESQ-CAP) score, and adverse reactions. Results The total effective rate was slightly higher in the observation group than in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (97.1% vs 93.9%) (P > 0.05). The durations of fever and cough/expectoration, as well as length of hospital stay, were significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group (P 0.05). Conclusion Nemonoxacin monotherapy and nemonoxacin combined with minocycline has comparable efficacy in the treatment of non-severe CPP patients; however, the combination therapy can accelerate the relief of clinical symptoms, promote the recovery…
