USE of anticolinergic drugs for the therapy of patients with overactive bladder according to the guidelines of the european association of urology 2025
Abstract
INTRODUCTION. Overactive bladder syndrome (OABS) is one of the most urgent problems of modern urogynecology, based on the rather wide prevalence of the pathology. Overactive bladder syndrome (OABS, urgency syndrome) is urinary urgency, which is usually combined with pollakiuria and nocturia, with or without urge incontinence in the absence of urinary tract infection and other obvious pathology. OABS negatively affects the quality of life of men and women. The purpose of this work is to present modern ideas about the physiology and pathophysiology of OABS, demonstrate the etiology, pathogenesis, classification, diagnosis and modern treatment of this pathology according to the guidelines of the European Association of Urologists 2025. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The materials used in the work were scientific literature on the results of global and European studies of recent years, as well as the Guidelines of the European Association of Urologists 2025. RESULTS AND THEIR DISCUSSION. The article demonstrates an individual therapeutic approach to each patient with OABS and shows the place of anticholinergic drugs in the therapy of the syndrome, proves the importance of diagnosing chronic concomitant diseases that cause and aggravate the course of OABS, and shows the need for timely diagnosis, therapy and prevention. The article indicates the importance of a correctly collected history, correct filling in of a urination diary and study of urodynamic indicators. The paper describes the…
