Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this cross-sectional study was to assess the correlation between selected personality traits and the level of perceived stress in patients undergoing catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter. These arrhythmias are among the most common cardiac rhythm disorders. Gender-stratified analyses showed that men scored higher on sadism, while women reported higher levels of stress, negative affectivity and social inhibition. Participants who reported greater concern regarding body weight management exhibited increased Machiavellianism levels, whereas other physical health behaviours were more frequently neglected among individuals with stronger Type D…

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a cross-sectional, done in people. Its evidence level is 4 of 5 (Low · observational). Observational designs can show an association but not prove cause. Reported size: 50 participants or records.
