Abstract

To study the effects of psoralen on proliferation and differentiation of cultured osteoblasts in vitro,MTT and PNPP were used separately to observe the proliferation and the activity of ALP of osteoblasts cultured in vitro with psoralen of different concentration in it for different incubation periods.Protein was measured by Lowry. It was found that psoralen had the effects on promoting proliferation of osteoblasts cultured for 48 h at doses ranging from 5-20 μmol/L,for 72 h,1,10 and 15 μmol/L were effective. The activity of ALP was stimulated by psoralea at doses ranging from 10-15 μmol/L after 48 and 72 h incubation.Psoralen has the effects on stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of cultured osteoblasts in vitro.
