Abstract

To evaluate the efficacy of tadalafil 5 mg daily, dapoxetine 30 mg on-demand or in combination for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) combined with premature ejaculation (PE). Sixty patients diagnosed as ED combined with PE were randomly divided into three groups: tadalafil 5 mg daily group, 30mg dapoxetine on demand group and combination groups, 20 cases were in each group respectively. The course of treatment was 2 months. The therapeutic effect of ED or PE was evaluated by the international index of erectile function -5 (IIEF-5) score or the premature ejaculation diagnostic questionnaire (PEDT) score before and after treatment, respectively. 16 cases’ erectile function was improved in 5mg tadalafil daily group, with an effective rate of 80%. In dapoxetine 30 mg on-demand group, only 6 cases of erectile function improved with an effective rate of 30%. In combination group, 18 cases of erectile function improved, the efficiency was 90%. There was significant difference among groups (P < 0.05). 9 cases of tadalafil 5mg daily group improved PE, the effective rate was 45%. 13 cases of dapoxetine 30 mg on-demand group had the improvement of PE, the efficiency was 65%. In combined group, 15 cases of PE improved, effective rate was 75%. The difference among groups was significant (P <0.05). In the 3 groups, the effective rate of PE in patients with ED improvement was significantly higher than that in patients without ED improvement.
