Abstract

This well-documented uncontrolled study tracks improvement in the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) scores and penile curvature in 99 men with Peyronie’s disease. 1 It was conducted over the course of two years and identified statistically significant improvement in penile curvature and erectile function with a tolerable complication rate in response to a tri-modal protocol of intralesional clostridium collagenase histolyticum (CCH), tadalafil, and vacuum treatment. Despite lack of controls, it does serve to confirm the safety, efficacy, and clinical utility of their nonsurgical approach and supports the growing body of literature on combined therapy for this difficult disorder. Based on results in multiple “real world” studies following the Investigation for Maximal Peyronie’s Reduction Efficacy and Safety Studies (IMPRESS) Trial, 2 it is encouraging to see that both chronic-and acute-phase patients were included. The well-known efficacy of phosphodiesterase inhibitors makes tadalafil the likely cause of IIEF
