Efficacy of piperacillin-tazobactam combined with levofloxacin for treatment of severe community acquired pneumonia
Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of piperacilli-tazobactam combined with levofloxacin for severe community acquired pneumonia(SCAP).Methods The clinical efficacy data of 55 SCAP patients treated with piperacillin-tazobactam combined with levofloxacin were retrospectively analyzed. Results The total effective rate was 81.8% and the average course of treatment was 11.8 days.Bacterial clearance rate was 73.1%.The side-effect such as gastrointestinal upset, skin rash, leucopenia were light and could be releases after drug discontinuance or treating symptom. Conclusion Piperacillin-tazobactam combined with levofloxacin is effective and safe for SCAP and can be used as experiential antibiotics.
