Lipid-correcting effect of marine unsaturated fatty acids for prophylaxis of cardiovascular diseases in boys
Abstract
The correcting effect of the alimentary polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acids on composition of the erythrocyte fatty acids of 82 male children at the age of 7-14 divided into groups with and without risk factors of cardiovascular pathology has been studied. Effectiveness of the alimentary correction of most of erythrocyte polyunsaturated fatty acids defects at the early stages of disease, that was especially observed in case of children with myocardial infarction heredity, has been shown. The lipid-correcting effect of the alimentary polyunsaturated fatty acids can be used for preventative treatment of children with cardiovascular disease heredity.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a clinical trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence. Reported size: 82 participants or records.
