Joint Antibacterial Action between Levofloxacin and Polymyxin E in vitro
Abstract
[Objective] The research aimed to measure the joint antibacterial action between levofloxacin and polymyxin E in vitro.[Method] The inhibitory tests in vitro were performed against Escherichia coli,Salmonella pullorum with filter paper method and tube dilution method. And the diameters of inhibition zone, minimal inhibitory concentrations of levofloxacin combined with polymyxin E were measured.[Result] The results showed that the joint antibacterial action between levofloxacin and polymyxin E was stronger than the functions of single levofloxacin or polymyxin E.[Conclusion] The clinical application effects of levofloxacin and polymyxin E needed to be proved with experiments.
