Regulating Effect of Xuanqi Drop Pills on NO and 5-HT Concentration of Serum in Migraine Animal Models
Abstract
Objective To investigate the regulating effect of Xuanqi drop pills on nitric oxide(NO)and hydroxytamine(5-HT)of serum in rats with nitroglycerin migraine. Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:low-dose group(0.29 g · kg-1),medium-dose group(0.59 g · kg-1),high-dose group(1.18 g · kg-1),positive control group(Zhengtian pill 2 g · kg-1),model control group and blank control group. Each group was administrated ig for seven days except blank control group and model control group these give were equivalent amounts of purified water).30 min after the last administration, all rats(except blank control group) had migraine models reproduced by subcutaneous administration of nitroglycerin.Four hours after the migraine animal model was established, the serum was collected from the abdominal aorta. The concentration of NO was measured by nitrate reductase method and that of 5-HT was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Results Compared with model control group, the concentration of NO in positive drug control group,high-dose group and medium-dose group was reduced while the concentration of 5-HT was increased. Conclusion Xuanqi drop pills can regulate the NO and 5-HT concentration in the serum of rats.
