Abstract

Objective To study the effect of Xiong Zhi Dilong Tang on β-endorphin(β-EP)and calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP)in migraine model. Methods Healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, named normal saline group, model group, sumatriptan group and Chinese herb group,12 rats in each one.Experimental migraine animal model was duplicated by subcutaneous injection of nitroglycerin(NTG).The contents of β-EP and CGRP in blood and brain stem were determined in 4 h and 6 h of medical intervention respectively. Results The contents of β-EP in plasma and brain tissue increased in Chinese herb group and sumatriptan group, and the contents of them in two time spots were significantly difference from those in model group in comparison(P0.05,P0.01).The contents of CGRP decreased in plasma and brain tissue increased in Chinese herb group and sumatriptan group, and the contents of them in two time spots were significantly difference from those in model group in comparison(P0.01).Conclusion Xiong Zhi Dilong Tang can downgrade abnormal increase of CGRP and upgrade abnormal decrease of β-EP induced by nitroglycerin.
