The association between migraine and glaucoma diseases: A retrospective cohort study
Abstract
Migraine and glaucoma represent substantial public health concerns. Previous epidemiological studies on their direct association have yielded inconsistent findings, though shared pathophysiological mechanisms are proposed. This large, population‐based cohort study aimed to explore the migraine‐glaucoma association, assessing glaucoma prevalence, clinical presentation, and disease severity markers in patients with migraine compared to nonmigraine controls.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a cohort study, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence.
