Case Report: Migraine
Abstract
The use of acupuncture for neurological disorders and pain management is increasing annually. Patients often seek alternative therapies due to the lack of
improvement with conventional treatments and the potential side effects of pharmaceutical interventions. This case study describes the assessment and
treatment of a patient presenting with migraines, exploring possible differential diagnoses. It demonstrates the clinical reasoning process of applying Chinese
medicine knowledge and experience to diagnose and treat the patient. A treatment protocol is provided, which resulted in positive patient outcomes
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a case report, done in people. Its evidence level is 5 of 5 (Very low · case / narrative / animal / in vitro / in silico). Case reports, narrative reviews, and animal, cell or computer-model studies give the weakest evidence for human health.
