Effect of Porosity Micropipe Carrying Levofloxacin Pulvis in the Treatment of Chronic Osteomyelitis in Rabbits
Abstract
Objective: To observe the curative effect of PDLLA/β-TCP porosity micropipe carrying Levofloxacin Pulvis to the chronic osteomyelitis in rabbits. Methods: Chronic osteomyelitis models were established by bacteria implantation. In 20 rabbits with chronic osteomyelitis, the defects were filled with porosity micropipes which were carrying Levofloxacin pulvis. After two weeks, a series of examinations were made, including pathologic examination, X-ray and CT scan. Results: Fifteen animals were succeeded in duplicating model of chronic osteomyelitis, and only 12 rabbits survived. After the treatment of the porosity micropipe carrying Levofloxacin Pulvis, 11 rabbits were cured. Conclusion: Porosity micropipe carrying Levofloxacin Pulvis is effective for the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis in rabbits.
