Abstract

In the article cited above, a composition error resulted in incorrect data presentation in Table 2. The following text in the column "Pharmacologic management of multisystem inflammation and coagulopathy" applies to patient nos. 4, 5, and 6: "Bicarbonate for associated AKI in patient 4 only. Methylprednisolone pulse therapy at 30 mg/kg for 3 days with tapering over 3 weeks. Slow infusion of IVIG on 2 g/kg over 2 days. Anakinra (3 mg/kg/day for 5 days) for patients 5 and 6. Furosemide, captopril, and a short course of digoxin. Enoxaparin and low-dose aspirin." The editors apologize for the error. The online version of the article (https://doi.org/10.2337/dc21-1094) has been updated to correct the error.

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a case series, done in people. Its evidence level is 5 of 5 (Very low · case / narrative / animal / in vitro / in silico). Case reports, narrative reviews, and animal, cell or computer-model studies give the weakest evidence for human health.

How the five levels of evidence work. The level is assigned automatically from the abstract and can be wrong, so check the paper.
