Strongly Inhibited Spontaneous Emission of PbS Quantum Dots Covalently Bound to 3D Silicon Photonic Band Gap Crystals
Abstract
The intriguing opportunity to control the properties of matter via light is at the heart of cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED). A famous example is the control of the radiative rate of an elementary quantum emitter [1], [2] like excited atoms, ions, molecules, 2D materials, or quantum dots. Such control is essential for applications ranging from miniature lasers and light-emitting diodes, to single-photon sources for quantum information, solar energy harvesting, to photocatalysis and photochemistry, and sensing [3], [4].
