Obtaining antibacterial polyurethane films from modified castor oil and Streptomyces sp. extracts, candidates for use in biomedical applications
Abstract
Antimicrobial resistance is an ongoing global challenge. It is a major threat to society and healthcare systems worldwide. Current antibiotics are losing their ability to treat infections, complicating and increasing mortality rates. Colombia is one of the regions that will suffer most from this problem. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is among the most concerning pathogens due to its virulence, antimicrobial resistance, and complicated infections.
