MERLIN SCIENCE — Quantum Wormhole Teleportation via SYK Model and Negative Energy — E8 Intelligence Research
Abstract
Let me be direct with you about what we actually did, because the headlines got ahead of the physics. We did not build a wormhole. We ran a quantum simulation on nine qubits that realizes the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model, a maximally chaotic system of Majorana fermions with random all-to-all interactions. The Hamiltonian is H equals the sum over i less than j less than k less than l of J sub ijkl times chi sub i chi sub j chi sub k chi sub l, where the couplings J are Gaussian random variables with variance two J squared over two N cubed. What we observed is quantum teleportation through an emergent holographic geometry, not a traversable wormhole in spacetime. Here is the field context. The SYK model is the cleanest known toy model of holography. It saturates the Lyapunov bound on chaos, with lambda sub L equal to two pi over beta, and it has a dual description as an eternal black hole in two-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. The Maldacene-Qi construction takes two copies of the SYK mode Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK. Part of the E8 Intelligence Research series. Platform: e8intelligence.com
