Abstract

This paper proposes a spiral motion model of the photon. The photon is regarded as the only true point particle in the universe—it has no spatial extension, no rest mass, and no intrinsic properties. Its trajectory is a spiral motion along the direction of its momentum. All observable features of the photon are geometric manifestations of this spiral motion, not inherent attributes of the particle itself: the spiral radius R is a universal constant defined as the spatial quantum; the time required for one complete spiral turn, τ , is defined as the temporal quantum; the energy E = hν is defined as the energy quantum. The momentum vector p is the fundamental quantity, and the energy E = pc is derived from it. This model reveals the origin of the rest mass of elementary particles, pointing out that the rest mass of stable particles such as electrons and protons originates from the binding energy of photon condensation. The model provides a unified explanation for optical phenomena including interference, diffraction, polarization, and the photoelectric effect, and gives a prediction for angular momentum that differs from standard quantum mechanics: angular momentum is proportional to frequency, rather than being a constant. The model further geometrizes the charge interaction mechanism in the background photon field: a negative charge (electron) induces the momentum direction of neighboring background photons to point toward itself (forming a “sink”); a positive charge…
