Exploring a sensor based on quantum phase transition
Abstract
Recent advancements in quantum sensors showcase a tremendous potential for detection of low energy threshold events.A weak signal can in principle induce a quantum phase transition (QPT) in a spin lattice prepared near its critical point. We would like to explore the feasibility of such a detection scheme deploying an all-to-all connected model on a quantum computing hardware.Understanding these possibilities is extremely important in the context of direct detection of dark matter as well as other potential applications in quantum sensing and metrology [1,2].
