The Second Enlightenment and its research approaches
Abstract
The Holistic Information Theory (HIT) proposes that information is the fundamental entity of the universe, from which energy, matter, space-time, and consciousness emerge. At its core is the concept of dimension 0, a timeless reservoir of information that links physical and biological processes beyond space-time.
This framework provides coherent explanations for paradoxes in physics and cosmology. Quantum entanglement, the black hole information paradox, fine-tuning of natural constants, the double-slit experiment, and the unexpectedly early formation of galaxies observed by the James Webb Space Telescope can be reinterpreted as manifestations of informational couplings.
In biology and medicine, HIT highlights the role of information as an organizing principle in epigenetic plasticity, neuroplasticity, memory formation, and placebo/nocebo effects. Beyond theory, HIT formulates falsifiable hypotheses and a broad interdisciplinary research agenda, including quantum optical experiments, satellite-based entanglement studies, precision measurements, cosmological data analysis, and biomedical research on information-driven cellular reprogramming.
Taken together, HIT suggests the beginning of a Second Enlightenment, in which science, society, and ethics are reconnected through information as a universal principle. This paradigm not only unifies fundamental theories but also opens transformative perspectives for health, creativity, cultural evolution, and sustainable development.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a case report, done in people. Its evidence level is 5 of 5 (Very low · case / narrative / animal / in vitro / in silico). Case reports, narrative reviews, and animal, cell or computer-model studies give the weakest evidence for human health.
