A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Phase 2a Proof-of-Concept Study to Evaluate the Efficacy of Maximally Tolerated Doses of Retigabine vs. Placebo in Reducing the Pain Associated With Post-Herpetic Neuralgia
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of retigabine vs. placebo in reducing pain associated with post-herpetic neuralgia.
Conditions: Postherpetic Neuralgia.
Primary outcome: Primary Endpoint Will be the Change From Baseline in Average Pain Score Over the Last 7 Days of the Maintenance Phase..
Enrollment: 187 participants.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 187 participants or records.
