Cortisol Regulation in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine if insulin resistance (how well the body uses insulin and clears sugar) can affect cortisol levels in normal healthy women and women with polycystic ovary syndrome of all body weights.
Conditions: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
Primary outcome: The comparison of body surface area adjusted cortisol production rate (CPR/BSA) before insulin sensitizing therapy in women with PCOS.; The comparison of body surface area adjusted cortisol production rate (CPR/BSA) after insulin sensitizing therapy in women with PCOS..
Enrollment: 37 participants.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a clinical trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence. Reported size: 37 participants or records.
