Multiple endocrine dysfunctions in twins with Wilson's disease: two case reports Deng et al. endocrine dysfunctions in Wilson's disease
Abstract
Wilson’s disease (WD) is a rare disorder characterized by abnormal copper metabolism, which could induce endocrine dysfunctions. Here, we report two cases of twins with both WD and multiple endocrine dysfunctions, including one twin with primary hypothyroidism and polycystic ovary syndrome, and the other with serious hepatic dysfunction and hypopituitarism.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a case report, done in people. Its evidence level is 5 of 5 (Very low · case / narrative / animal / in vitro / in silico). Case reports, narrative reviews, and animal, cell or computer-model studies give the weakest evidence for human health.
