A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Phase 2 Study Assessing Safety, Tolerability and Long-term Efficacy of Bryostatin in the Treatment of Moderately Severe Alzheimer's Disease Subjects Not Receiving Memantine Treatment
Abstract
To evaluate the safety, tolerability, and long-term efficacy of bryostatin 1 (hereafter referred to as bryostatin) for the treatment of moderately severe Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Conditions: Alzheimer Disease.
Primary outcome: Safety: Treatment-emergent Adverse Events and Serious Adverse Events for All Randomized Subjects Who Received Any Study Medication; Efficacy: Severe Impairment Battery Total Score Assessment Obtained After Completion of the Second Couse of Treatment (Week 28).
Enrollment: 122 participants.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 122 participants or records.
