Sildenafil for Improving Outcomes After Valvular Correction
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the mid-term treatment with sildenafil in patients with persistent moderate or severe pulmonary hypertension (PH) after a heart valve intervention.
Conditions: Pulmonary Hypertension, Valvular Heart Disease.
Primary outcome: Combined Outcome End-Point: all-cause mortality or hospital admission for heart failure, worsening of World Health Organization (WHO) functional class, or of the patient global assessment score.
Enrollment: 200 participants.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a clinical trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence. Reported size: 200 participants or records.
