The Negative Impact of Sildenafil on Behavior and Psychology
Abstract
Abstract Sildenafil citrate, widely recognized under the brand name Viagra, has been a game changer in the management of erectile dysfunction (ED). While its therapeutic benefits in treating ED are well-established, its recreational use has led to significant psychological, behavioral, and social concerns. This article examines the unintended negative consequences of sildenafil use, particularly in nonclinical settings. We explore the psychological dependency, performance anxiety, altered sexual expectations, and relationship dynamics that arise from its overuse or misuse. Given sildenafil’s increasing accessibility and societal pressures surrounding sexual performance, understanding these effects is crucial for ensuring that its use remains appropriate and responsible.
