ClinicalTrials.gov · COMPLETED, 2023

90 participants

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate and compare the safety and efficacy of selective (PDE5) enzyme inhibitor; tadalafil and non selective (PDE) inhibitor; pentoxifylline in diabetic nephropathy to improve glucose metabolism, lipid profile and decrease albuminuria.

Conditions: Diabetic Nephropathy Type 2.

Primary outcome: Change in Urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR); Change in Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c).; Change in Fasting blood glucose.; Change in Sr Cr; Change in Creatinine clearance; change in 2- Hours Postprandial blood glucose.

Enrollment: 90 participants.

How strong is the evidence?

Evidence Hub reads this as a clinical trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence. Reported size: 90 participants or records.

How the five levels of evidence work. The level is assigned automatically from the abstract and can be wrong, so check the paper.
