Pola Penggunaan Antibiotik pada Pasien Pneumonia di Rumah Sakit P
Abstract
Abstract. Pneumonia is a highly prevalent infectious disease in Indonesia, with antibiotics as the primary treatment. Irrational use of antibiotics poses a risk of resistance and treatment failure. This study aims to determine the patterns of antibiotic use and the characteristics of pneumonia patients through a retrospective observational approach to cross-sectional medical record data. Data were analyzed descriptively, presenting the frequency and percentage of antibiotic use. The results showed that the most commonly used antibiotic class was cephalosporins, both as monotherapy (37.5%) and in combination with fluoroquinolones (20.0%). Fluoroquinolones were used as monotherapy in 17.5% of cases. The most commonly prescribed antibiotics included levofloxacin (24.6%), ceftriaxone (19.7%), and azithromycin (9.8%). The use of meropenem at 6.6% reflects therapeutic adjustments based on specific clinical conditions. These findings indicate a preference for cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones in the management of pneumonia, consistent with recommendations in clinical practice guidelines. Abstrak.
