Efficacy and safety of nemonoxacin injection in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia in adults and its effect on serum inflammatory factors
Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of nemonoxacin injection in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in adults, as well as its effect on serum inflammatory factors. Methods A total of 103 adult CAP patients who were admitted to our hospital from April 2024 to May 2025 were randomized into an observation group (51 patients) or a control group (52 patients). The observation group and the control group were treated with nemonoxacin and levofloxacin, respectively. The two groups were compared in terms of clinical efficacy, time to clinical symptom disappearance, serum inflammatory factor levels, Community-Acquired Pneumonia Physician Reported Outcome (CAP-CRO) scores, and adverse reactions. Results The total effective rate was slightly higher in the observation group than in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (92.2% vs 88.5%) (P > 0.05). After treatment, compared with the control group, the observation group had slightly shorter time to disappearance of fever, cough/expectoration, and pulmonary moist rales, as well as slightly lower serum levels of WBC, hs-CRP, IL-6, and TNF-α, scores for each observed indicator on the CAP-CRO scale, and incidence of adverse reactions, but the differences were not statistically significant (all P > 0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of CAP, nemonoxacin demonstrates slightly better efficacy and slightly fewer adverse reactions than levofloxacin; however, the differences were not…
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a randomized trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 2 of 5 (High · randomized trial). Randomized trials of a reasonable size are the strongest single-study design. Reported size: 103 participants or records.
