Toward an Integration of the Orch OR Theory of Consciousness Within the Schrödinger/Einsteinian Framework of the Now
Abstract
Planck units constitute the fundamental constants of physics. Physical quantities such as duration, velocity, mass, and gravitational force can be expressed in terms of Planck units. Planck time represents the fundamental unit of the numerical order of events unfolding within time-invariant space. Within this framework, there exists neither a physical past nor a physical future. Time, understood as duration, is not a primordial physical reality but an emergent physical quantity that arises exclusively in the process of measurement. Time does not constitute the fourth dimension of space; rather, space is temporally invariant. We experience this temporal invariance of space as the Now. Space is posited as an energetic continuum constituted by Planck quanta QP. Gravitational interaction is mediated by gradients in the energy density of time-invariant superfluid quantum space. This superfluid space is proposed to possess both real and complex components. Consciousness is described as the frequency ν=1/tPC of complex superfluid space composed of complex Planck quanta QPC which acts on brain microtubules via quantum gravity as suggested by the Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch OR) model.
