The Encyclopædia of Physics
Abstract
M. Besancon(Ed.) London: Chapman & Hall . 1966. Pp. xii + 832. Price £10. No book which sets out to provide, in one 800-page volume, concise and accurate information about the whole of physics can possibly satisfy every reader. Nor is a single reader likely to read every word, or even every article, in such a book—this reviewer has certainly not done this—so that any individual opinion will be based upon a small selection of articles.
