A Phase II Trial of Preoperative Chemotherapy and Chemoradiotherapy for Potentially Resectable Adenocarcinoma of the Stomach
Abstract
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.
PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in treating patients who have stomach cancer.
Conditions: Gastric Cancer.
How strong is the evidence?
Evidence Hub reads this as a clinical trial, done in people. Its evidence level is 3 of 5 (Moderate · trial / cohort / secondary analysis). Trials without a large randomized design, cohorts and secondary analyses give moderate evidence.
