Fixed drug eruption due to levocetirizine and cross-reactivity with cetirizine and hydroxyzine
Abstract
Abstract Several drugs can act as possible causes for fixed drug eruptions (FDEs). The newer generation of antihistamines is considered safer and less prone to causing adverse drug reactions. This case study highlights a rare occurrence where a 19-year-old woman developed a multifocal FDE after taking levocetirizine, with a history of similar reactions to cetirizine and hydroxyzine.
