A Review on Analytical Methods of Diethylcarbamazine Citrate and Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride
Abstract
Diethylcarbamazine citrate and levocetirizine dihydrochloride are commonly used drugs for the management of parasitic infections and allergic conditions. The present review summarizes the analytical methods reported for the estimation of these drugs, either individually or in combination. Emphasis is given to commonly used techniques such as UV Spectrophotometry and reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP- HPLC). Important parameters involved in method development, including wavelength selection, mobile phase composition and detection conditions, are discussed in brief. In addition, validation parameters such as accuracy, precision, linearity, limit of detection and robustness are outlined based on standard guidelines. Reliable analytical methods are essential to ensure the quality and safety of pharmaceutical formulations. This review provides a concise overview that may support routine quality control and future analytical research.
